Bourbon Strawberry Spritzer~Cheers!

Well, I'm back!  If you follow my updates on Facebook, you know that I've been busy working for a client at the International Home Furnishings Market in High Point, NC.  Twice a year, the Triad (Greensboro, High Point &Winston Salem) turns into one big metropolitan city with buyers from all over the world coming to shop for the latest in home furnishings.  It's an awesome, crazy, good time!  

I've had such a wonderful experience this year working with the owners of an antique business.  The great thing is, I've not only helped them in their beautiful showroom but have also been providing "extra TLC" in their home.  So, with only a couple of things left on my Market schedule, I decided it was time for a celebratory drink!
Of course, for this Southern Soul, it starts with bourbon...
Bourbon Strawberry Spritzer

• 1 1/2 oz Bourbon whiskey ~ Blanton's is the favorite here
• 1/2-1 cup strawberries - halved
• 6-8 basil leaves, torn, plus for garnish
• Sparkling water

• Place the strawberries and basil in the bottom of a large glass. 
• Muddle with a large spoon and top with the whiskey. 
• Stir to combine and fill the glass with ice cubes.
• Top with sparkling water then garnish with basil leaves.
