Sunday evening we grilled out some wonderful ribeye steaks and believe it or not there was some left over. I've got several ways that I typically use leftover beef but this time I wanted something different. I decided on putting together a steak sandwich with a couple of surprise toppings. First, I took regular ketchup and turned it into a spicy, tangy sauce. Then I changed up my regular slaw recipe by adding chopped broccoli.
With all of my ingredients prepared and 2 hungry taste testers at the table, it was time to assemble the sandwiches. Here's how you do it -
- Thinly slice steak and warm in skillet. Make sure not to over cook the meat.
- Slice buns, lightly butter both sides and toast in oven.
- Slather a layer of Spicy Ketchup on bottom of bun and layer with steak.
- Top with a slice of provolone cheese.
- Place in oven to melt cheese.
- When cheese is melted, add a spoon full of sauce and top with Broccoli Slaw.
- Top with other half of toasted bun.
