Steak Sandwich with Spicy Ketchup & Broccoli Slaw

Written By Unknown on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 | 7:38 AM

Sunday evening we grilled out some wonderful ribeye steaks and believe it or not there was some left over.  I've got several ways that I typically use leftover beef but this time I wanted something different.  I decided on putting together a steak sandwich with a couple of surprise toppings.  First, I took regular ketchup and turned it into a spicy, tangy sauce.  Then I changed up my regular slaw recipe by adding chopped broccoli.
With all of my ingredients prepared and 2 hungry taste testers at the table, it was time to assemble the sandwiches.  Here's how you do it -
  • Thinly slice steak and warm in skillet.  Make sure not to over cook the meat.
  • Slice buns, lightly butter both sides and toast in oven.
  • Slather a layer of Spicy Ketchup on bottom of bun and layer with steak.
  • Top with a slice of provolone cheese.
  • Place in oven to melt cheese.
  • When cheese is melted, add a spoon full of sauce and top with Broccoli Slaw.
  • Top with other half of toasted bun.
All I can tell you is...it was AWE-SOME!  Even with one of my taste testers not liking broccoli, they both asked for seconds.  So, I've got a new way to use a leftover beef, another way to use broccoli and a great new recipe for ketchup.  I'd say that's a successful day in the kitchen!
